Hot Tornado

After meeting on a dating app, Evan and Sarah had their first date in St. Louis. Evan waited patiently for Sarah to show. When she finally did 45 minutes later due to traffic and parking hiccups, Sarah claims she came in like a “hot tornado.” This first impression didn’t faze Evan, who appreciated Sarah’s kindness and energy. Their first date lasted over two hours, leading to the couple hitting it off and a few concerned texts from Sarah’s sister asking if she needed to be rescued. Evan moved in with Sarah six months later, and let’s just say - the rest was history!

On the Same Page

They dated for five years before they knew they were ready to progress their relationship to the next level. Evan wanted the ring to be a surprise while still involving Sarah in the design process. This was something that the couple had had open dialogue about because Evan wanted to be sure that the final ring was one Sarah would love and be excited about. Sarah already had an idea of the type of ring she wanted, and they met with their personal designer to come up with concept sketches. Sarah reflects on the ring design process, saying, “I was there for the initial build of the concept and then Evan took it from there. I was able to take a step back so that I would still have that ‘aha’ moment when he actually popped the question.”

Service and Serendipity

As a fellow U.S. Army veteran and business owner, Evan knew Wove co-founder Andrew from the same cohort, and they connected over their entrepreneurial endeavors. The timing was nothing short of perfect as Evan was considering looking for a ring at the same time that he connected with Andrew. Following the initial design consultation, Evan worked with Andrew to find the right diamond – a round diamond with a six-prong setting – for the rose gold band decorated with tiny pave diamonds. Sarah refrained from seeing the replica ring when it came in the mail to keep it a surprise until the proposal. After seeing the replica in person, Evan made a few minor design adjustments in order to make the final ring one that he knew Sarah would be excited about.

“We met with the designer via zoom and she asked me a bunch of super helpful questions on things that I would have never even thought to ask about or things I didn't even know existed.”

Comfort of Home

As an introvert, Evan loved that the Wove process was stress-free and could be done from the comfort of his own home. He recalls being concerned about having to go into a jewelry store and feeling unnecessary pressure around ring-buying. Sarah agreed, noting that, as a first-time shopper of fine jewelry, she appreciated working collaboratively with Wove to receive the ring she wanted – all without prior knowledge of knowing exactly what to ask for.

A Specialized Experience

For Evan and Sarah, it was more than buying the forever ring. Describing working with Wove, Evan says, “I never understood the supply side of it, the design side of it, or the pricing side of it… So, I learned that through this process, which was cool.” Sarah reflects, “It was really amazing to work with our designer in order to have someone to bounce ideas off of who's done this process many times before. Your designer makes sure that you’ve thought everything through and that it's really just going to be your perfect diamond ring.”

“Being able to work with Wove from my house, on the phone, or through zoom was sweet. I just felt like I was in good hands and that made the process super smooth and very comfortable.”
