A Wove Story

Gina & Travis

Two Families, Woven

Gina and Travis were set up by a mutual friend in 2019, and neither of them expected to like the other. They talked on the phone for weeks before they ever met in person, and by the time they did, Gina admits she was already gone. Six months later, her three kids and his three kids were moving into one house together, and a family of two became a family of eight. Six and a half years and more than a few hard seasons later, they were still choosing each other, every day.

Fancy Dinner Night

Every New Year's Eve, the whole crew drives up to Big Bear. There's snow, there's skiing, and there's a tradition the kids take very seriously: Fancy Dinner Night, when everyone gets dressed up for one big meal together. This year, as dinner was coming together, Travis asked Gina to step out onto the back porch with him to scout a spot for the family photo. There was no crew, no lighting, no producers — just the two of them in the cold and, unbeknownst to Gina, his daughter Presley crouched in the trees with a phone. Travis held her close, said a few words, and got down on one knee. Gina covered her face and nodded yes before she could get the word out. After eight years of living so much of her life on camera, the moment she'll keep forever is the one with none.

“After 8 years on television, what I loved most about this moment was that there were no cameras around except for my stepdaughter hiding in the woods.”

Six Diamonds, One Oval

Travis came to Wove with one instruction: the ring had to tell the story of the family they'd built. His designer translated that into what we now call the Family Oval. At the center sits a large oval diamond — one stone for the two of them, joined. Flush-set into the 18K yellow gold band are six round brilliant cut diamonds, three to the left and three to the right: one for each of Gina's children, one for each of Travis's. Six diamonds, one oval, two families. Nothing on the ring is decorative for its own sake; every stone has a name.

From Replica to Real

Custom takes time, and secrets are hard to keep in a house of eight. That's exactly what the Wove replica is for. Travis worked with his Wove designer on the design, then received a replica of the ring — an exact model of the finished piece — so he could hold it, see it on a hand, and know it was right before a single diamond was set. That's the ring he carried up to Big Bear. Once Gina said yes, the guesswork was over: she could wear the replica, live with it, and confirm every detail was exactly what she wanted. Only then could our master goldsmith in Lancaster, PA craft the final ring by hand, in 18K yellow gold, with the diamonds that now have her children's and his children's names on them.

“The ring is absolutely perfect! The thought he put into it blows my mind.”

Two Families, Woven

Gina says she and Travis fell hard and fast, and that everything life has thrown at them since has only pulled them closer. The ring says the same thing without a word. It's an oval for the two of them, and six small stones for the six reasons they built a life around each other. That's what a Wove ring is for: not to look like everyone else's, but to hold exactly the story it was made to hold.
