How They Met
Mike and Laura met in Anchorage, Alaska on a dating app during the pandemic.
A Shared Love of the Great Outdoors
Mike and Laura love to take full advantage of the great Alaskan outdoors, so you can often find them skiing in the mountains, kayaking through rivers, or camping in the wilderness. Before creating her custom Wove ring, Mike knew that he wanted to get Laura something stunning, but it also needed to withstand their active lifestyle.
The Information Campaign
Laura shared a few inspirational images of rings that she liked early on in their relationship, but it wasn’t until two years in that Mike began his engagement ring “information campaign”. Whenever a ring appeared in either of their social feeds he checked her reaction to see if she liked the design. Over time he was able to figure out exactly which unique details Laura really wanted.
“There’s something special about building it yourself instead of purchasing an ‘off-the-shelf’ ring. ”
MIKE
Creating a one-of-a-kind ring
Mike worked with Andrew from Wove to co-create Laura’s one-of-a-kind ring. It features a beautiful radiant cut center diamond, with a diamond halo and french pave band set in platinum. The overall design is classic and dainty, yet resilient enough to stand up to the great Alaskan outdoors.

A Tough Decision Made Easy
Seeing the replica before deciding on the final ring gave Mike the confidence of knowing that he was creating something she would love. He even showed it to a few of her friends and his future mother-in-law to confirm that he was on the right track. Once he approved the final design, the ring arrived at his home in Alaska in just five days. Ironically, Laura signed for the package not knowing it was her soon-to-be engagement ring!
“I felt like I hardly had time to plan the proposal, but the ring was so beautiful I simply couldn’t hold onto it.”
MIKE
