A Chance Encounter
Afsheen and Sadia met through mutual friends, where they shared a fun and casual first date. Afsheen happened to be visiting Chicago, where his decision to stay a week later led to him crossing paths with Sadia, who came back home to Chicago early from a trip to Washington, D.C. Afsheen noticed Sadia’s confidence, and the way she carried herself even made him a little nervous! They both agreed on how natural the conversation between them was, with Afsheen adding that Sadia “felt like an old friend that I hadn't seen in a long time.”

Learning Rings
After dating long distance and spending time traveling together, they started ring shopping and talking about the right time to pop the question. Sadia was unsure about the type of ring she wanted and was drawn to Wove’s bespoke ring process. She appreciated having a designer walk her through all the different options and help her narrow her design down. Both Afsheen and Sadia found the process to be informative along the way. The couple started the ring design process together, but once they decided on what it should look like and made the necessary changes to the final design, the rest was a surprise for Sadia until the big day.

Easier with a Home Try-On Ring
When sharing about why the couple chose Wove over a larger-scale jewelry retailer, the home try-on ring was a big selling point for Afsheen. “It [the try-on ring] gave us an idea of what we were working with and gave us the option to iterate and find exactly what we wanted.” For Sadia, it was helpful to get a feel for how the ring sat on her finger, and she noted that the try-on ring and advice from the designer made choosing the right ring for her lifestyle easier.

A Matching Set
Afsheen and Sadia worked with Kendall, their own personal jewelry designer with Wove, to create Sadia’s unique but timeless ring – a round cut diamond with a four-prong hidden halo – complete with pavé diamonds on the band. The couple also chose to match Sadia’s wedding band to her engagement ring. When reflecting on the design process, Afsheen shared, “When you think about a man’s wedding band, the experience is so different. So I just felt like, one, I can learn something new and two, just doing it together was fun in itself.”

A Waterfall in Costa Rica
Afsheen and Sadia’s mutual love of nature and the outdoors prompted them to take their first international trip together to Costa Rica. It was on their last day there that Afsheen coordinated the perfect intimate moment at the end of a hike at the base of a picturesque waterfall. After offering to take her picture, he waited for her to turn away from him before getting down on one knee. The pair were married during a small ceremony in March, exactly one year after they met.
